Mercedes "Drive Pilot" level 3 driver's assistance feature is rolling out soon in Germany, but we got a demo in LA. This is a full level 3 system, meaning the driver is not required to pay close attention or keep their hands on the wheel. All systems in the US up until this point have been level 2, which requires the driver to be ready to take over at any moment. It will be a while before this is truly available, and there are caveats: it's geofenced to certain roads, and only work under 40mph, but the system is impressive.
